COVID 19 CLIENT/PARTNER COMMUNICATION
Updated 2-5-2021
One of the Devine Food Pantry’s highest priorities is to protect the health and well being of our clients and volunteers. In coordination with San Antonio Food Bank, through their association with Feeding America, Feeding Texas, FEMA, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and our internal teams, the Devine Food Panty is actively monitoring developments related to Coronavirus (COVID‐19).
As of this printing, the immediate risk has elevated in Texas and it is important to stay informed as these types of situations can be constantly changing. We recommend monitoring the CDC website as the authoritative source regularly. While every individual should assess their own risks and plan accordingly, at this time the Devine Food Pantry’s events and activities including food distribution will occur as scheduled.
In order to plan appropriately and safely we will be limiting the amount of physical contact between clients, volunteers, and staff to wit:
1) We will, for the time being, maintain our regular hours of Tuesday & Thursdays from 10:00am to 12:30pm.
2) We will only allow 10 clients in the building at one time and require that the each client maintain a 6 foot “exclusion zone” around themselves
3) We will provide each client mask and gloves as appropriate and requiring clients to wear them while in the building.
4) Only 1 client per household will be allowed access to the building. No Children
5) No in & out. Please make sure you have everything you need before you enter the building.
6) We will be monitoring the situation and be making changes to our operations as necessary.
As we continue to support the communities we serve, we will provide you with regular updates via our Facebook page and our website https://www.devinefoodpantry.org .
Please bear with us during these trying times.
Thank you for your continued commitment to serving our communities. We'll continue to monitor and adjust strategies to keep us all safe and healthy moving forward.
Clients are encouraged to come on one of the listed days and are limited to one visit per month per family.
The Pantry has plenty of food for the month, no matter which day is chosen. We don't run out of items if you come later in the month.

HELP FIGHT HUNGER
It takes the support of the entire community to fight hunger. Every dollar, every can and every donated hour matters.
1 in 5 children in our area is at risk for hunger and over a 500 families are struggling with hunger right now. We need your help to provide them with one of life’s most basic necessities – FOOD. Last year, 94% of all donations made to Devine Food Pantry Ministry went directly into our community. Whether you are an individual who wants to help, or a company looking for a charitable partner, you can be sure your donations are always utilized efficiently and effectively to help those in need.
The Devine Food Pantry Ministry continues to seek donations to offset operating costs and to fund pantry operations. Your support is needed to make the Devine Food Pantry Ministry a staple in our community. You, your organization or business can help in the following ways:
Donate your time and help us distribute food on one of our distribution dates. You can help as little as one time or help every time.

Food insecurity exists in every county and congressional district in the country. But not everyone struggling with hunger qualifies for federal nutrition assistance. Hunger must continually be addressed in our community and the Devine Food Pantry Ministry is and will be the voice of the hungry! The Devine Food Pantry Ministry was founded in 2004 by the Devine Ministerial Fellowship, a collective group of Ministers and clergy from the Devine, Natalia, Lytle and Moore Texas communities.
We are 100% people and community funded. Long term underemployment, unemployment and the high cost of food, gas, utilities and rent are forcing more and more people to seek emergency food. The need for emergency food is unprecedented.
What does it take to fight hunger? Monetary Donations & Volunteers.
Monetary donations to cover the expenses of food acquisition, maintaining a physical plant, electricity, phone service, water, sewage and trash, insurance etc and volunteers who not only fill boxes with food donated by the Wal-Mart Stores of Devine, Hondo & Castroville and HEB-Lytle, but volunteers who pick up food procured through the San Antonio Food Bank and local food drives from the Devine ISD, volunteers who unload the vehicles and place the items in the storeroom, stock the shelves in the distribution area, process the orders for distribution, maintain the physical premises and clerical help in the intake area for the required governmental and SAFB member agency forms.
The Devine Food Pantry Ministry is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that provides food assistance to children and families in need in our community and surrounding areas. Hunger is a growing epidemic and it continues to affect hundreds on a daily basis. The Devine Food Pantry provides numerous programs to meet the needs of every person who walks through our doors.
The Devine Food Pantry Ministry is one of the leading pantries in Media County Texas and we are proud members of the San Antonio Food Bank . We serve low income families regardless of their race, color, or religion. Your donations may be tax deductible. With your generous support, Devine Food Pantry Ministry will be able to continue to roll out the red carpet and serve families in need. It takes co-operation, efficiency, and strong partnerships to fight hunger.
